In a defining moment for the future of agriculture in Southeast Asia, Farm Konekt proudly took center stage at the BIMP-EAGA Agribusiness Cluster Meeting 2024, held on October 1–2. The gathering—hosted under the Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) umbrella—brought together key players from both public and private sectors across the subregion, all united in advancing agribusiness innovation and digital transformation.
At the heart of this year’s cluster dialogue was a growing consensus: inclusive digitalization is the key to resilience in the region’s food systems. As a homegrown social enterprise based in Palawan, Farm Konekt stood proudly as a beacon of this transformation—presenting real-world breakthroughs in farmer clustering, market integration, and sustainability.
A Platform That’s Bridging the Gap
Farm Konekt shared key milestones that marked a year of growth, partnerships, and social impact:
Hundreds of farmers and fisherfolk have been digitally onboarded into the Farm Konekt platform across several provinces, creating a connected ecosystem where producers gain access to markets, financial tools, and agri-support services.
50 training sessions have been conducted, focusing on digital literacy, agri-enterprise development, and cooperative clustering—empowering communities with the knowledge to scale.
8 new partnerships through MOUs and MOAs were signed with national and regional government agencies to institutionalize service delivery and market access.
Through its proprietary platform, Farm Konekt has made it easier for producers to organize, communicate, and transact, breaking down the historical barriers that have kept rural farmers on the fringes of economic progress.
Backed by Strong Partnerships
Farm Konekt's success is built on a collaborative approach—working hand-in-hand with both government and international partners to turn big ideas into lasting impact.
At the summit, Farm Konekt unveiled ongoing partnerships with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)—two agencies that have been instrumental in bringing agri-tech closer to rural communities.
In addition, a powerful collaboration with Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is further driving Farm Konekt’s alignment with green financing and eco-friendly agri-trade practices.
One of the most exciting developments is the partnership with USAID, which supports the co-creation of the Eco Kolek platform—a circular economy initiative focused on reducing rural agri-waste and promoting sustainable production through zero-waste solutions.

“Digital empowerment is no longer optional. It’s essential for farmers to thrive in a cross-border, climate-sensitive economy,” said John Vincent Gastanes, CEO and Co-Founder of Farm Konekt, during his panel address.
Insights That Are Redefining Agri-Futures
From field experience to regional strategy, Farm Konekt highlighted four critical insights during the cluster discussions:
Digital Tools Can Transform Lives – Onboarding rural farmers into digital systems has improved traceability, productivity, and income.
Clustering Builds Power – Organizing producers into cooperatives enhances their pricing control and trade capacity.
Public-Private Partnerships Are Key – Close collaboration with government, startups, and funders accelerates inclusive development.
Sustainability Must Be Central – Climate-responsive strategies such as Eco Kolek align profitability with responsibility.
