We are thankful for #DOSTMIMAROPA for their relentless trust on our advocacy to uplift the lives and help our community of informal waste pickers within the island of Palawan, and also for picking us an audience on the Smart City consultation.
It was a meaningful meeting with other stakeholders for the smart city and we are grateful to participate in this focused group discussion as an innovator in development.
We look forward to see our iterative step realize its clear goals within this year together with DOST and other partners.
This multi stakeholders approach with our beloved partners like the USAID #CleanCitiesBlueOcean, City Government of Puerto Princesa and TESDA was born out of compassion of these agencies towards our beloved community based leaders.
Project Zacchaeus’ Eco Kolek, a USAID Grantee, shared its goals and aspirations in helping the informal waste collectors in Puerto Princesa City on the radio program of Goody Sarsagat in Radyo Pillipinas.
John Gastanes, Shellemai Roa, and Mitchell Gimena shared the current status and the future plans of the project.
With them is Nanay Lydia, a volunteer community leader of the waste pickers in Jacana who was also excited to share what the project has done to the families living their area.
"This is a great project, I hope that many will see the problems around them and provide simple and impactful solutions like what your team has done," said Goody.
We are truly humbled by this experience to present our newest community based ecosystem together with Go Palengke, the project is called “Farm Konek”, a complete ecosystem from incubation to delivery of goods to market, tailored fit and designed for grassroot farmers assistances.
PZC will always be thankful to the City Agriculture Office of Puerto Princesa and Department of Agriculture who gave so much effort and time to believe in our team of dynamic young leaders who designed this social enterprise that addresses poverty in capability and vulnerability.
Kudos Team Go Palengke and Farm Konek.
